- Vicki Noble: the double goddess
An independent American scholar, writer, and teacher, she is a leading figure in spiritual feminism and Goddess studies. Her work lies at the intersection of feminist archaeology, comparative mythology, and the history of religions, with a particular focus on prehistoric and ancient societies and the symbolic systems associated with femininity. In the volume The Double GoddessNoble proposes a rereading of archaic symbolic models, highlighting the complementarity of feminine polarities—generative and destructive, vital and liminal—as they emerge in prehistoric and protohistoric cultures. Through an interdisciplinary and imaginative approach, her contribution has played a significant role in disseminating critical reflection on the profound past, the sacred feminine, and the processes of cultural repression operated by historical patriarchal societies.
